An acquiatance of mine used to learn Romanian some time ago, and from what I heard from her in Romanian, â sounds very much like ы indeed. I don't think sounds of different Ïàìÿòíèêè íà ìîãèëó ÑÂÎ â Ìîñêâå languages can be exactly the same, but they can be very, very close.
